Suction lances with integrated fill-level monitoring
What makes a Reed suction lance stand out from the competition?
Suction lances are used for the precise extraction and filling of liquids in containers and allow for the exact dosing. Using a Reed suction lance, you can easily and conveniently replace a tank or canister without using any tools.
The Reed standard suction lance does not have any adhesive surfaces that come into direct contact with the medium. This means that it is especially resistant against corrosive media and is characterised by a high quality standard.
Suction lances can be used, for example, in industrial dishwashers, swimming pools and in the chemicals and pharma industries.
Product overview
Suction lance with level switch: Reliable monitoring of fill levels with empty notification
Thanks to the integrated level switch, Reed suction lances provide a reliable solution to prevent pumps from running dry. The built-in empty detector promptly alerts users to low liquid levels, effectively helping to avoid downtime or process interruptions. With its integrated switching function, the level switch precisely detects when the minimum fill level is reached, allowing users to react in time and prevent unnecessary disruptions in production or cleaning processes. Additionally, the built-in check valve ensures that no liquid flows back, guaranteeing a dry container change.

Reed Electronics AG – your suction lance expert
We have more than 30 years of experience in fluid management. Thanks to our accurate work procedures and optimised work processes, we produce robust, high-quality suction lances in no time at all that do not suffer from wear and tear and do not require any maintenance.
Advantages of Reed suction lances
The hose connection of our standard suction lances is positioned inside the container, directly above the suction foot, effectively reducing foam formation. Thanks to their wear-free design, Reed suction lances require no regular maintenance. Since no adhesive joints come into direct contact with the medium, they also ensure an exceptionally long service life and high chemical resistance. Easy installation and intuitive operation without the need for programming simplify daily use and setup. With their compact and reliable design, Reed suction lances offer particularly cost-effective and safe solutions for a wide range of dosing applications.
Typical Applications of Suction Lances
Suction lances are used in various industrial sectors, especially where the highest precision in liquid dosing is required. Typical applications include water treatment, professional cleaning and dishwashing machines, as well as industrial dosing systems. They are also essential in the chemical industry, car wash technology, and pool maintenance. Their robust construction enables the safe extraction of various liquids, ranging from harmless cleaning agents to aggressive chemicals.
Applications of Suction Lances
Structure and Technical Features of Our Standard Dosing Lances
The standard version of our dosing lances is made of durable PVC and is available in 525 mm, 775 mm, and 1300 mm lengths. Alternatively, customized materials and lengths from 200 mm to 2000 mm can be manufactured according to customer specifications. The design of the standard dosing lances is specifically engineered for long service life, featuring a seal-free construction that allows them to withstand even aggressive liquids.
From a technical perspective, they offer integrated depth adjustment and hose connections positioned inside the container above the suction foot, effectively preventing unwanted foam formation. The switching voltage is up to 25 V AC or 50 V DC, with a switching power of up to 10 watts. Thanks to their robust design, the lances achieve an IP67 protection rating and can reliably operate at temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C, with short-term resistance up to 70°C.
Custom Solutions: Suction Lances Tailored to Customer Needs
In addition to the proven standard version made of durable PVC, which is available from stock in 525 mm, 775 mm, and 1300 mm lengths, we also offer customized suction lances. These tailor-made solutions can be manufactured in various materials and sizes, allowing for flexible adaptation to specific industrial requirements.
Additionally, the suction lances can be equipped with a variable number of suction or filling connections to effectively handle complex processes. For particularly sensitive applications, EX-protected variants are available, meeting strict ATEX regulations and ensuring maximum safety in hazardous environments. Models with integrated temperature measurement are also available, enabling precise monitoring of liquid temperature during the suction or filling process.
Furthermore, mini suction lances are available—specially designed for precise extraction and filling of liquids in small containers and applications with extreme space constraints.
